I am moving an IIS server (Windows 2000) from one server to another server (Windows 2000), Is there a way to migrate all the settings, accounts and all critical information to the new server? Or will I have to configure the new server from scratch?

Thank you in advance, Scruby

I had to do this to a web server running IIS 4.0 and Frontpage. It took two techs working on it in our "spare" time about 2 weeks to do about 150 sites. We had to do it by hand so for your sake I hope there is a tool to do this.

I have found a tool on Microsoft's website called IISV5Migraton Utility. I did not find it searching their website, but rather doing a search on Google for IIS 5 Migration tools, on Microsoft's website you will find the IIS6 tool. I have not yet used it, but it explains that you will select the source server and destination and it will migrate all settings and accounts without making any changes!

I do have it on my PC, so if you are interested email me at sandbergns@corning.com

Were you able to migrate the IIS? We tried on our end and it keeps failing when it writes the files to the target server. The error message is a generic VBScript error message referencing security and permissions....
