We are being merged into our parent site, who now has no AD infrastructure. We currently have one, but it looks like the CIO will want to create a new forest at the parent site and want us to join.

Doesn't look like trusts are an option, so with that, what is the least painstaking process. Blow away AD here and re-add once they are complete at the parent site?

Thanks!

Since you are running a 2003 AD. I would keep all your hard work in place and just rename your domain to what the parent company wants it to be. Then add infrustructure to support them. There is a lot of information out there with regards to renaming forrests and domains, which you can do with AD 2003.
