Moving a Project 1

Can one tell me how can we move an ASP.NET webapp to another server or another location. I tried copy& paste and copy project but nothing works. Sometimes, I feel ASP was good cos' the whole source code was portable anywhere with IIS.
Please help
 
Does the server you're moving the project to have .Net Framework installed on it?
 
Hi,

Check out the following link, in the section on Windows Installer. This enables you to create your project in a virtual directory that you create on the new web server. This is very useful for moving a project from one server to another.


(Note: in the "Add Project Output Group box" You need to select more options than they select here for it to work.... I recommend selecting all of it.

I just do a manual copy of the contents of the folder to a folder on the server when I need to do this. I'll check out those links though, because it would be nice to be able to do it from VS.Net.
