Hi all, we have brought up an additional Networker server in our environment. now we want to migrate 1 client that is also a storagenode and it's associated jukebox from server a to server b. I can't seem to find any instructions for migrating the current information about the client backups over to the new server. Has anyone done this without having to scan in all the tapes in the storage node? We have alot of tapes in the jukebox and I really don't want to have to scan them all. I just want to take the current client information from one server and put it onto the new server.
Env is Windows 2000 with Networker 7.

hi,

Correct me if im wrong. You want do move a storagenode from datazone a to datazone b and also the Index of this client?

If you wish to do so, simply create the new storagenode on the new Backupserver and apply the old HOSTID from the client in the old datazone. You can change the HOSTID by creating a new client.

After this copy of move the INDEX of the client from datazone a to b. When finished run nsrck -L6 and nsrim -qX

That should it be. Let me know if it helped.

The clients indexes and media database is kept in networker server, just copy the /nsr/index/client and the whole /nsr/mm to the new backup server, get the clientid for this client and create a new client in new backup server with the same clientid (this is important as post-nw 6.x enforces clientid in ssid and mm), u are done :)
