I am scheduling a crystal report that will email a message to the user. The report is doing a count and I just want to send the count in the email title or body. How would I do this?

Instead of scheduling the report to email to a destination in the usual way, consider setting up a report alert instead - set the alert condition to apply if the count of records is greater than zero (to make it run every time) - and you can then pass through the value of the variable into the alert message.

Hi Deb,

Can you just elaborate a little on this please. I am trying to do a similar thing but I'm not sure what you mean by passing the variable into the alert message. How do I get the alert message into an e-mail?

All I'm trying to do is send an e-mail (with no attached report) of who has logged in to our system the previous day. Plain text only.

Have you listened to Tony Christie's new albulm about Sheffield?

Many thanks if you can help.

Cheers,

Ian
