Hi guys,

I've made a programme in microsoft project, and have now been asked if the whole thing can be pushed forward 2 weeks. so it look exactly the same, but with every date 2 weeks later than they currently are - I've had a bit of a play around with things and searched the net but can't find an easy way of doing this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Tom

If you have not entered any actuals then there are a couple of possible approaches.

1. Project > Project information and change the project start date.

2. Display the Analysis toolbar, click on "Adjust Dates" and enter the new start date.

In both cases, Project will honour various constraint dates (making the appropriate relative adjustments), predecessor/successor lags, and will adjust, as necessary, to accommodate non-standard work dates (which you set up by clicking on Tools > Change Working Time... )

If you have entered Actual Work, that will "lock down" those tasks as well as "locking down" any tasks which are successors to those tasks (even if those successor tasks do not have any Actual data) and will not move them.

I noticed that changing the project start date using Project > Project Information does not move tasks that have date constraints (in MSP2003 anyway).

"Adjust Dates" does the trick nicely, moving all constraints to the new date (thanks PDQ, I had forgotten about that one).

Hmmm ... when I tested it in P2003, it adjusted the few constraints that I had. Glad to hear that the other approach worked for you.
