Hi,

Currently i'm transfering MS Excel 2000 files from one network folder to another, using Workbooks.Open and Workbooks.SaveAs

Is there a way of copying and saving a workbook, without opening and saving?

Thanks in advance.

object.CopyFile source, destination[, overwrite]

eg. FileSystemObject.CopyFile "c:\mydocuments\letters\*.doc", "c:\tempfolder\"

look in the VB help file for more info.

You can use the below:

Name "C:\folder1\name.xls" As "c:\folder2\name.xls"

Ian

Guys,

Sorry, but i omitted one important factor from my original post... These files start up not being protected, however when they're transferred, a password to open the workbook is applied...

Does this affect your earlier responses?

None of them will work.
You will need to open them and save as with your File protection settings.
