I have created a database that has 3 linked combo boxes, when some of the combo boxes drop down, not all the available choices are available. This has caused the end users to complain, so we have come up with 2 possible solutions...

1, Have to Combo box drop down to be the size of the options, or....
2, have the combo box respond to mouse scroll wheel event...

i cannot find any info on either of these topics, could someone help?

Thanks

Dave

There is a LIST ROWS property, which I believe defaults to 8 - you can set it to anything up to around 1000 or so, which may strain the verticality of your form's height, if you know what I mean. Try setting it to 20 or 25, and see if that pleases the users.

Remember, you're unique - just like everyone else

Hi

I may be reading the question wrong, but If the choice made in combo box one, reduces the options you would like in box2 then:

I would change the query properties of combo box two and build a criteria that reflects the choice in box one. then in the after update event of box one, add cboBox2.requery as the combo box queries once when the form loads, but wont change unless you force it with a requery.

All the best,

Simon

Simon,

The tool is used to reflect Departments on floors of buildings, so for example we have 10 buildings, between 1 and 6 floors on each, but there may be between 1 and 25 departments on each floor, so the final combo box will always differ in size.
It's when the combo doesn't display all the option the end users get upset!
i would prefer the scroll option, as this would keep the form neater, is there a way of doing this as an alternative?
Thanks for your help so far...

Cheers
Dave

Jim,

I'll try that thanks!
