hello,
Im running rh linux 7.2 on my primary hard disk, then on my second hd I am running windows 98. I have huge amounts of mp3's I want to transfer over, and I am having some problems mounting the win98 disk. I tried this command

mount -t vfat /dev/hdb1 /mnt/windows/

but I get the error "mount point /mnt/windows does not exist" Is windows on hdb?, am I getting the drive wrong? All my linux partitions are all on hda....so I would expect the next hd to be named hdb. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the directory windows exist under the mnt directory on the linux box? The system is telling you it cannot find the mount point for the windows drive. From root it should look like this "/mnt/windows".

Thanks;

No, the directory windows dosent exist under the mnt directory. shaun

The directory has to exist before you can use it as a mount point.

mkdir /mnt/windows
