Mount Error 1

I am running AIX 3.2 and recently 2 Power PC's crashed whilst a mount to the server was open.
The server on the showmount command lists the 2 units as mounted. However, the 2 units cannot mount on startup because the server says they are mounted.
All systems have been shutdown several times to try and clear the problem with no success.
I have tried unmount allr on the clients but with no success.

How do I inform the server that this is not the case?

Well the fact that the server has these entries in its /etc/rmtab file i.e. put in their by rpc.mountd

You can clear out this file but I would then stop/start rpc.mountd via:

stopsrc -s rpc.mountd

startsrc -s rpc.mountd

Then showmount -a will show no entries.
