Guys, i know that i have been asking you series of questions lately, and this time I need again your suggestion to my problem.

I want to perform a database level backup.

And then there's error that I encountered while performing the backup.

its AE9684 Exchange SErver error. Mount databases before backup.

How will i do that?

Suggestion would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

thanks sir David..

I have another question. It's not related to the topic i posted but i encounter this error when i tried to make a long erase on my tapes..

it says " Long Erase Failed" "Unrecoverable Error" ?

It's my first time to encounter this error when performing a Long Erase on my tape.

Thanks,

oooppps,

I am sorry, i type the wrong error message.

It's E6018 Recorded Entity not found or basic media error(14 00)

E6092 Fatal Uncorrectable error.

This is the errors i saw on the tape log. Sorry i am just using the remote desktop connection to make backups on our server that's why i can't copy and paste the actual log here.

Suggestions are very appreciated.

Thanks and more power.

The drive failed to read what was previously written on the tape. Usually a problem with the media, but could be a drive problem, it needs cleaning, environmental problem, etc.

Long Erase = true SCSI erase, it starts at the beginning of the tape and does not stop until it reaches the end, so this will take hours and there is no way to break out.

Quick Erase = overwrites the tape header and makes it blank as far as the application is concerned.

sir david, format one of my tapes but to my surprised it went 3 hours and after that an error prompt on my screen saying "Failed to write volume header.
