hi i have a motorola sm56 speakerphone fax modem(internal) which works fine under win 2000, but not in linux. Please tell me whether its supported in linux or not. I have also downloaded the driver for it from motorola site and tried everthing like minicom, kppp, rhdialer.
when i run minicom it says Input/Output error and sometimes it says modem is busy.
i have checked everything port ,i/o address everything is fine like in windows its running on com3 which is ttyS2 in linux...but then also it does not work please help me

thanks in advance bye

try to find a way to send the init string to the modem
which is really important.

then do the usual test as atdt1111111 and wait for
any blip from the line.
