MOTHERBOARD SUGGESTIONS

I am building a new computer and have all the parts except the motherboard,ram or processor.
I have a ASUS V8200 DELUXE video card
Sound Blaster Live 5.1
SONY DVD
PLEXTOR 24X REWRITER
windows xp pro
80 GB WESTERN DIGITAL
Please does anyone have any suggestions.
I have tried a ABIT KG7 and only have run into problems.
Also if anyone knows of a good web site to check compatibilty.

The KG7 has the AMD 760 & via southbridge combination chipset and is not the fastest out there!
Go for the Via KT266a, NOTE a* this is the fastest platform and is getting rave reviews at the moment!
Gigabyte,Asus,MSI,Abit,FIC all good makes but make sure about the chipset. Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!

I Like my A-open motherboards...

Have a look at the web site or vendors.....might be interested...good for overclocking and NO jumpers!!!

What I have:

ASUS A7V266-E motherboard ($152.00)
AMD Athlon XP 1700+ ($163.00 - retail)
512MB of PC2100 DDR SDRAM ($84.00)

If thats too much money try

Epox 8KHZ+ motherboard ($99.00)
Slower Processor
256 MB RAM instead of 512MB

Both of the motherboards i mentioned use the VIA KT266a (NOTE a*) chipset.



If you were thinking of going Intel I also have:
ASUS P4T motherboard ($144.00)
Intel P4 socket 423 1.7 GHz ($185.00 - retail)
256 MB Rambus 800MHz ($72.00)

Personally I like my AMD system better so I would recomend going with the AMD system. I think it performs better and its cheaper.
