I am trying to set up a new system for my son and I am having a weird problem.

Specs GA-7VKMLS socket A motherboard
Athlon 1900 cpu
256 meg pc133
60 gig Maxtor HD
cd-rom

When I turn the system on the fans start I get the post then NTLDR is missing then the power shuts off. The fans are still running but everything else is down.

Any ideas are appreciated.

if this is a brand new system, or major hardware changes, reinstall windows......xp i assume?

New system! I think it may be a power problem as I was trying to use an old case with a 235W power supply. I am trying a new case now.

Make sure you have the processor fan plugged into the correct plug on the motherboard, usually labeled something like "cpufan".

Thanks for the help.

There was actually 2 problems.

First was the power supply. The new P.S. enabled me to start the load but 10 minutes later the machine cut off again.

Second was an improper rated cooling fan.

Machine now doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks Again!!
