My computer will not power up. I've checked everything. The only way to get it to power is to remove the processor. So, is the MB or the processor.

It's probably the processor. I got a new Mobo once and put my old processor in and it wouldnt boot up. So I had to get a new CPU and it worked fine. I've heard many cases of bad cpu's making the comp not post. Bad cpu = no post. But it might be something else, but most likely the mobo. I'd try to find someone who will loan you a cpu that will work with the board. If not, take it to a place like I did, they have cpu's lying around they can swap out and test.

You tried a power supply?? the weakest link. Please let members know if there advice has helped any.

Yes I tried the power supply and every other piece that attaches to the MB.

The new processor works purrrfectly!

Thanks for your help.

Jeff
