I just bought a new Motherboard. It's a GA-7V400-L1. I have installed a Athlon XP 2200+ to the board. For some reason it's reading it as a 1500+. The performance of my computer is great but I'm just wondering why it is reading it as a different processor. Anyone got any ideas??

Thanks
Brandon

What's your Front Side Buss (fsb) set to in your CMOS?

Though those previous replies will most likely be the answer...if you buy OEM processors it could be remarked

Well, I have tried setting the jumper to Automatic (Which is 400/333/266 FSB.) My Processor is 266 FSB. And I have also set it to off...which is 200 MHZ. When I set it to Automatic it reads my processor right but I get an alarm and then my Computer just shuts right off. It's like it's conflicting with the sytem or something. I'm clueless. Maybe my motherboard is faulty or something. Any clue?

The FSB in the Bios should be set at 133. 133 x 2 = 266. For this CPU the Voltage is 1.6v and the Multiplier is 12.5. The FSB setting is more than likely the problem.
