This is my problem with a Polaroid BurnMax 24EX drive. After struggling with it since 7/29 I decided enough was enough.

I took the drive back to Office Max and was told that after 14 days there wasn't much they could do, AND I didn't have the box although I do have the receipt.

The lady behind the help desk suggested I contact the manufacturer and tell them how unhappy I was with it. So, when I got home I emailed the support address on the web site (The brand is Polaroid but they licensed the manufacture of these drives to Disk Fusion Technologies (DFT). The support address is invalid and my email came back.

I reinstalled everything and tried to copy a different CD, and it always says it copies but when you try to play it, everything isn't there, or at least it won't play. The screen says that the output cd is exactly the same as far as number of tracks and MB used. When if "finishes" it opens the tray of the Polaroid drive.

When I played the first CD I copied, I can play the first 8 tracks out of 22...and nothing happens after that, except if I'm playing it on my pc, it locks up the pc. The second CD works on 7 of 13 tracks. This is true whether I play it back on the Polaroid, my Samsun drive, or either of my cd players.

It always ends the same way, with the cd tray of the output drive open.

The Diskfusion web site says you can also go to a particular Polaroid web site so I went there this morning and sent their support a copy of the email that I tried to send to disk fusion last night. I have no response yet.

I've tried 4 different cd software packages, downloaded new drivers, and now, I feel like I'm being "punished" for trying to make this work so long. If I had taken it back right away there would have been no problem

I'm at my wit's end, unhappy with Polaroid, unhappy with Office Max, unhappy with Disk Fusion and I STILL can't make a CD!!

I read your note of dispare regarding the Polaroid BurnMax. I have one as well and am having problems too. It will not recognize a CD-R as being in the drive. I am burned up about the burnmax and would like to hear from anyone who has discovered a resolution.
