I have a report with a group on opportunity ID then in the details i have the notes for that opportunity. I want a running total that counts the Opportunity Id but only when that opportunity is won (status 3). So I make a running total with the following evaluate criteria (opp_status = 3). The problem is the running total counts each detail section (notes) not just the Opp_id. This will work if i can include the evaluate on change of group (opp_ID).

Anyone know how i can do this with a running total?

to get around it I have made 3 formulas one to declare one to increment when the condition is true and one to display. I have to do so many of these it would be great if there was just another line I could include in my running total formula.

Fingers Crossed.

Try changing the count to a distinctcount of OppID, using the running total editor.

Your a star Lbass!

Any idea why it would count the details section even though i specified the opp_Id in the criteria?

The running total is counting the OppID, and even if you have not placed the OppID in the details section, it is present in each record and therefore getting counted per record, unless you specify distinctcount.

Great! How would you reccomend using a sum in this situation? There is no distinct sum option.

I was able to do it by making a formula

if opp_status = 3 then revenue

Then made the running total to evaluate on change of group, this way i didn't need to use the formlula in the evaluate on section.

Thanks for your help.
