I have a set of folders the are assigned to a monthly policy that uses a specificly barcoded scratch pool. I need to find out how I can get the same set of folders backed up on a different yearly policy that uses a differently barcoded scratch pool to back up additional folders.

I've found that I can't use the same folder path on two subclients, so I can't use two subs pointing to the seperate policies. I'm still new enough that I haven't figured out all the different copy stuff to know if there's a way to do it.

Here's kind of a layout of what I'm trying to do:

Monthly backup Yearly backup
tape pattern: MONxxx tape pattern: YRxxxx
------------ ------------
datafolder1 datafolder1
datafolder2 datafolder2
financefolder

It would be prefered if I could get them on a single tape each.

Hi

If I read you right then you can just create another auxilliary copy with different retention...this will then copy from your monthly policy to the yearly

Maybe I'm just not finding the right option. I kind of looked at this before, but didn't find anything that made the right sense. I can't find how/where to point the aux copy to the yearly policy. It just refers to a scratch pool. I want it to be on the same single tape as the yearly backup. But that can't happen if the tape is already taken for the yearly storage policy.
