How do you monitor "unmanaged frame relay"?

Every time the lines go down, tons of people call me. What are people doing to monitor these lines? Right now becuase the lines have been up and down all day, I have a continuous ping going to the servers where the frame relay goes to.

Any Suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Doesn't your provider monitor the lines and notify you of an outage?

It's unmanaged. I have to make a trouble ticket. Soon this is going away though. Just would be nice in the mean time.

We basically created a script program that checks the route table via SNMP for changes every 30 seconds.

We've have Webtrends FW suite, it has a free monitor utility, which uses ping to monitor the routers. When the connection drops, it then sends out a page. I know ping is not the most reliable, but there's no problems with the bandwith.
