Monitoring Auto Attendant

Our auto attendant has been acting up lately. Twice in the past month it has decided to quit answering during the night or weekend, which gets the support managers quite upset if there was an emergency support call from one of our customers.

Can anybody suggest a product that can dial my auto attendant and notify via email or a call to a cellphone if it detects a ring no answer condition?

id be looking for a new auto attnedent

assuming there was such a device what good whould it do ? the auto attendent could answer it and then shut down so that the next call would go unaswred .
 
Another thought is how often do you want these spurious calls comming into your call center?
 
You need to put call forward no answer on your phone lines (timer longer than the autoattendant answer delay). That way if a call goes unanswered by the autoattendant it will be diverted and you'll know there is a problem.

You didn't mention what auto attendant you have. Brand, size, model, etc. would be helpful.

Many voicemail system do comprehensive maintenance in the middle of the night that can impare their functioning. But they have to do it some time, and most systems do that between 1 and 5am.
Rather than buy a system to do the testing, I would probably have one of your employees that works the night shift to call the auto attdt and keep a log of it. If U don't have a night shift or guard that can do that, U may have an employee that has strange sleep patterns that results in them being up in the middle of the night.
