I have been working on a computer for the last two months. I haven't actually touched the computer in 3 weeks until yesterday, now nothing will show up on the monitor.

I took the video card out and put into another expansion slot, nothing worked. I have taken the video card out, installed in another computer, all worked fine so I know its not the video card.

Anyone know what else this could be?

Thanks

Remove and refit all cards and connectors including ram, check external power and VGA leads.

Martin,

Thanks for the help. I have removed all the card and connectors. When I boot up, all the fans start, hard drives click but I don't get any LED lights on the front of the box. I am not for sure if they ever worked or not. Could this be a power supply issue even though the fans are working? The CD ROM Drive will accept and reject a CD as well.

Any insight?

Have you tried a different monitor? "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

The monitor works with another box I have.

When you say you removed all cards and connectors, did you also disconnect all drives? A faulty drive can cause these symptoms. Obviously you won't get far without any drives but it should display the post and give an error message about lack of system disk. It could be the power supply as you suggest or it could also be a short between motherboard and case, To check this remove the motherboard, leaving the CPU and RAM in place, lay it on a soft insulating surface, install video card, power supply and switch and try to boot. RAM is another possibility although there are usually beeps if this is faulty
