I have 2 monitor problems:

1st monitor - KTX color monitor (Low Radiation), age unknown. I've checked the "Display Adapters" and it displays "ATI Technologies Inc. RAGE 128 AIW AGP". It's a standard monitor.

PROBLEM: monitor showing blue-tint color, looks like it's missing one of the primary colors hence it's not displaying all the colors.

2nd monitor - Spectrum 7 Glr, age unknown.

PROBLEM: monitor display blurry (desktop texts blurry).

Does anyone know the problem? Is it my monitor or is it the video card?

Your help would be appreciated.

For the first one, I'd recommend adjusting the monitor settings for Color Temperature, Red Gain, and Blue Gain, if available. Any of these settings could result in the image looking off-color.

Also, the "ATI Technologies Inc. RAGE 128 AIW AGP" entry is your video card, not your monitor.

The second one, I'd check the contrast setting, but I doubt that's it. You could also make sure all the cable connections are secure. If none of that works, then I'd say the monitor is probably simply failing... at least from my experience with monitors.

#1. sounds like one of the color guns is gone, probably the red one, take to repair shop or purchase new one.

#2. there are some image adjustments that can be made from inside the monitor case, but very hazardous if you don't know what you are doing. HIGH VOLTAGE stored in unit EVEN if unpluged can hurt or even Kill you. Once again, take to a repair shop or purchase new one.

I'm pretty sure that your video card is not the problem based on the descriptions that you gave...

Thanks for your help, I guess my monitors will visit the dump :(

First one probably scrap!
Second one almost definately NOT scrap but a simple refocus adjustment.
As has been said be extremly careful if you do take the back off!!! VERY HIGH VOLTAGES!
But there is nearly always a focus screw (labled, FOCUS) on something that looks like a cars ignition coil and usually mounted towards the lower rear of the monitor
(one side)
It takes the smallest of rotational movement to sharpen the image up (use an insulated flat blade srew driver and don't touch anything else, replace the cover.
Again remember High Voltages like these JUMP! so do not get close to anything BUT the adjustment screw.
Only to be carried out by a compitant electrician! Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.

It doesn't appear either of these problems can be solved without taking off the cover. My advice there to anyone is that, if you do not know how to discharge the monitor, then be sure your life insurance is up to date. Literally. It's that dangerous.

This comment is not specifically aimed at you, B.G. From your response, it looks like you have the sense to know this. However, others read these forums, too, so I felt compelled to add this caveat.

The first problem could be a bad cable. Try bending the cable where it's attached to the monitor, or at the plug connecting to the computer.

Try this if u want to distinguish between bad colour on monitor or bad graphics card, but only if u r willing to open up the case:
Power supply off
open case
unscrew graphics card (the one attached to your monitor cable)
take it out
reboot computer
this will pit the standard VGA driver to ur monitor ie (low res etc etc
Now have a look at ur monitor
Good then graphics card is bust
Still bad then Monitor has had it
