I have recently re-installed windows onto my clean hard drive . I am running a dual screen setup, and whilst working on the computer earlier on today i installed some new drivers for my soundcard and restarted my computer. This didnt go to well and i ended up doing somewhere in the region of 10 or so restarts, using safe mode and other things. On the final restart my main monitor (an ADI microscan 6p 19") stayed black. I thought that the computer was hanging or just not booting properly, however my second monitor sprung to life and showed a picture. My first instinct was to check the video cards, but my ADI monitor didnt work on my other card either, and is still black now. I have checked all the leads and they are all in securely. The monitor is recieveing the data because the power light is green, as opposed to flashing amber when there is no signal. I am not sure what to try next, it all seems to have happened all of a sudden. Any help and insight will be greatly appreciated.........

Almost certainly the sound card has swiped the resources for the second graphics card. The easiest way to get out of this pickle is to roll back to a previous System Restore Point prior to the sound card debacle.

I have tried the monitor on my primary graphics card, and it still doesnt show a picture, whereas my other monitor does. I dont think its the soundcard. Is there a chance i could have blown my monitor?? It just happened all of a sudden, it hadnt even been on that long.

Have you tried the monitor on a different computer? The refresh rate (on your system) may be set too high for the monitor to work.

Sorry. I mis-interpretted your post. If one monitor works on either card and the other works on neither, then the monitor seems the most likely suspect. Just make sure that the graphics settings are within the monitor's range and if possible, try it on a different computer just to confirm the diagnosis.

yea nothing seems to be working, it was working before, i got it at the beginning of december and its worked fine up until now. It also functions as a 4 way usb route hub, that function is still working aswel. I have tried it on another computer and that isnt working either....
