The computer was working fine till saturday. today it doesnt want to work, the monitor always tells its in power save mode, input 1..
can anybody tell me what is this? as i tried everything also opened the CPU checked the cards and cables, but no luck,.
ny help would be really aprpeciated.
thanks

First, if possible connect another monitor and video cable to the computer and see if you still have the issue. If you do than it's not the monitor but is the power saver settings on the computer.
If the second monitor does work than you might see if there's a reset button or reset pinhole on the back of the monitor to restore factory settings, also check for bent pins on the connections.

Does the computer beep or give any indication of starting when you turn it on? If your computer doesn't start, the monitor won't ever display anything.

perhaps you can select the input type ('normal' VGA cable/BNC/something else) [from on screen menu or switch on back of monitor] - check that this hasn't been changed

if you post the make/model of the monitor, someone may be able to check the specifications, or even have one where they can check the possibilities

Thanks all of you. The problem was motherboard died. Had to get a new one.
