Hi,

Can someone tell me how I can monitor the status of a service? I would like to know when a service is stopped and started.

Kind regards,
Werner

Werner, it appears that people are not getting back to you on this site. I hope you received the help you needed but if you haven't, (again) let me know.

Werner,

I had to write my own script to monitor services. The one out of the box only monitors Exchange. If you haven't figured this out then let me know and I'll post what I did. It's rather lengthy.

Hi,

The easiest way is to check within your administration Tools-> services
check if your service is started or not.

Another way is to use SC on command prompt.

Hope it will help !

Regards.

Are you stuck with MOM or are you open to considering a tool that is much easier to install, configure and use? If you have to make MOM work for you, then no problem; I understand. I just know there are several companies out there who have invested the time and money to get MOM working, only to have it fall short of their expectations because it is so difficult to set up. I guess you either love it; or hate it. Let me know.

WDK, what service are you trying to Monitor? There are some services like License Logging, Onepoint, DHCP services that are monitored through the WIN2k OS PRG's as well as the NT40 Base Function PRG as well.
