Recently, my computer has stoped displaying any green colors of any sort. if something is suppoesed to be green, it just turns out to be grey, or black. my first thought was either the moniter had problems, or the video card was messed. i replaced both, and it's still the same thing going on. but, when i first pluged in the new moniter, it was fine, then it changed back to the messed up version. and then every once in a while, it will flicker, and things like that. if you have the slighest suggestion, please help me out.

I would check the cable that is connecting the monitor to the PC, and if you have a known good cable go ahead and replace it to see if that makes any difference. I would also download a new or updated driver for the video card and it never hurts to update your BIOS as well. Maybe this will help.

Hi guythatneedshelp,

you have to find back your MOBO manufacturers and download boot up disk driver and follow instructions carefully.

Hope this help you.

I would make sure that there are no bent pins on you cable. Sounds like a bent pin to me. Do the BIOS as a last resort.
Good Luck!

If it worked before, then a BIOS update shouldn't be the solution. Make sure you try a different cable first.

Have you checked the display settings (Right-click desktop and select properties)? If you go to the settings tab, make sure you have at least 16-bit color enabled (24-bit & 32-bit are fine too).

I agree with CDOGG - don't start messing with the BIOS until you've solved the current problem!

Did you change the monitor AND the video card together, or just one at a time? The new monitor should presumably have come with a new data lead, so that ought not to be the problem either. However, still worth checking for bent pins etc.

Look carefully to see if the video card is seating properly into the motherboard slot. I've had several occurances of cards not seating properly, and when the user has waggled or removed and replaced the monitor data plug, it's dislodged the card sufficiently for it not to work correctly.

Good luck!
