Cust wants to have his cd player hooked up to the CICS he has. I know that it violet green on pin out but was I wasn't sure of is their is a special cable or adapter that went from the 66 block punchdown to the headset input of the player? I have seen some real crazy wiring displays out there but, I would like to do it right! Thanks up front!

You may not need anything special at all there Buddy. Try cutting the earphone off then punch those leads straight down. If it doesn't work try reversing polarity. If you can get it working and the volume level is acceptable, you may not even need any filters. If the earphone wire is teeny tiny stranded wire, terminate to a screw terminal type bisquit jack and run a jumper back to the block.

put a toner on the MOH port press feature 86 on a phone and see if you hear it. If not you need to turn on music under feature settings. Then folliow the above!

The way I always do it is this....
just get a cheap set of headphones and cut the headphones off....you just want the cord.

Then, strip back the insulation.
Inside, you will have an 2 insulated inner wires (usually red and white) and an outer braided copper mesh that covers the insulated inner wires.

Strip the insulation from the red and white wires and twist these together. Then, twist together the outer copper mesh that covers the inner wires.

Tie these 2 leads down to the tip and ring sides of a surface mount jack, then tie down a jumper wire and punch it down to the MOH port coming out of the switch. (Or you might just scotchlok the jumper wire together with the headphone cord leads.

Either way will ensure that you hear both the right and the left channels of your stereo CD player through the mono MOH input.

don't forget to go into the programming and change from ON HOLD: TONES to ON HOLD: MUSIC
