I have an IP500 7.0.8 and I'm looking for a way to turn MOH off for some users. when on a conference call some uses need to take another call but don't want MOH in the back ground if they put the conference call on hold. I have looked around and it doesn't seem possible but I thought I would ask. Any ideas?

It couldn't be done per user. Outgoing calls use the system defined MOH source. If you wanted all outgoing calls to have silence on hold, set the system source to external with nothing plugged in, then get another running and set the ICR's to use that.

As Jamie said it isn't possible per user, but you can define which source outgoing calls use with the putting h(X) in the tel number field of the shortcode where X is the source number you want, one ofwhich could be silence :)

This might be an option;

When they have a conference let them put the mp3 player on pause, because it's webbased you can turn it off or on pause from any where you like.

Thanks for all of the options. I'm going to try the short code option. I'll let you know how it turns out.

It looks like using the short code for each user you can set it per user. So the users that I don't want to have MOH I can use a wav file that has silence on it. I used this short code under the user

9N
Nh(X) Where X is the source number of the MOH I recorded
Dial
0

That worked great, Thanks amriddle01!

No worries, you can indeed assign the source on a per user basis in this way, I meant you can't have individual sources for each user as you are limited to 4 :)
