Hello

I recently put an MP3 player on an analog port of the hipath 3800 V8.

however, the music played is going up and down in volume.

actually it seems like the music played "falls out" every now and then.

from a mobile, when silence comes, there is much noise on the line.

but between two ip ext. there is laps of silence.

what could be the cause?, do I need to reboot anything? analog card maybe?

kind regards

do you have a audio transfomer or a capacitor to remove the dc from the audio device

Are you using a headset jack or a "line out" jack on the MP3 player?

Are you connecting the MP3 player directly to the station port?

Normally you need a device with a 600 ohm output when you connect it for this purpose - preferably one with a volume control. Typically the headphone jacks are not 600 ohm and that could cause the port to shut down on defect and require you to reset the port.

That could have an affect on the process.

hmm no i didnt connect any transformer, or capacitor, og resistor 600 ohm, i just connected the jack directly to the POT port.

2 questions

If a 600 ohm resistor i required, does siemens provide this?

can an RJ45 to jack converter be bought anywhere?

If I get stuck. i just put a ring cap in a modular box to break the dc from the audio and it works no problem, but the audio transfomer is the better way to do it

I actually ended up using an Avaya box for an ACM. this also works.

The Avaya box was on stock and was cheap.
