I have an extremely odd situation where modules seem to lose connectivity from the 406. At random times of the day, the indicator light for an expansion module goes out. All of the phones on that module are then cut off from the current call and cannot make or receive any calls. As if I unplugged the patch cord from the back. This happens sporatically to every expansion module. They are not losing power or rebooting, just "dissappear."

Anyone ever experience this or have any insight?

Check the condition of the blue connector cables. As those who have tried to use alternate cables have discovered, the module to control unit connection is very sensitive to quality of cable and cable length.

I am using the proper cables. I dont think that i could possibly have 4 bad cables. It isn't just one module every time, it could be any one of them. It seems to happen between 9-11 AM, during their busiest time.

Hmmm... Perhaps a power issue where the total simultaneous amount of callers cause a power issue at the module level.

Are you using 4424D+s?

Do you have monitor traces that show just before and after the outage? You would have to see something in the traces.

I have seen station cabling issues cause modules to reboot quite frequently.

Ummm.. Thats about all I have.

I had the same problem with a POTS16, we found a faulty device connected to it. Next time it happens try unpluging all cables from the unit. Also turn on power to the Main unit a few seconds after all other units.

I have the same problem now, I also have a 406v2 with 5 expansions, only the 2 digital expansions loses communication with the control unit.

jcosgrove, did you fix it?

I had the same problem with pot16, found the problem was a cordless phone base connected to it. Also try earthing all units.
