I have installed faxing with MM, But if i check my voicemail from my phone and its a fax message, if i delete it there it also deletes it in my outlook avaya mailbox. Has anyone had this issue? If so do you know of any options which need to be changed so my faxes dont get deleted.

move the fax in outlook is the only way i know of

No you would need to move it from the folder in outlook before it is deleted

Because your outlook client is accessing and pulling your messages from the MSS when you open outlook. If you delete it through the TUI then the client has nothing to pull.

Do what Ken said. Move it to another folder within outlook and you'll be fine.

but if i check a voicemail and delete the fax in voice mail before i open outlook, it never appears in my outlook at all

You are right. But why would you do that? If you know you have a fax that you need to look at then it should be saved or just wait till you get into outlook to handle the message.

Thanks, Im not worried about me doing it but you know some users would just delete it and it would be lost. i was hoping to create a rule to move the faxes to another folder in the inbox but that didnt work.

And it will not as the message is not being pulled from the MSS it is just a pointer until you move it.
