I have been given the job of updating our Modular Messaging. We are running 5.2 with Service Pack 2. I'm supposed to upgrade it to SP 18. I was told I first have to update it to SP8 before I could make the jump to sp18. When I look at release notes, my system is not at the minimum releases. I am at wso, mas and admin 9.2.150.0 and patch 8 9.2.150.13 I need to be at MAS version MM5.2GA+Patch 8 build 9.2.150.13 and MSS version MM5.2GA+Patch 8 build 5.2-11.0. Can anyone tell me where to get these or what my steps are?

Thanks
Jeff

support.avaya.com? Yes. But I couldn't find anything about service packs on the site. The installation guide tells you how to install them, but nothing in depth about what loads or builds you can jump from.

Well I have some bad news for you. If you are at 9.2.150.0 that means that the system was never updated to GA.

GA is 9.2.150.13 (MM5.2GA+Patch 8) And if you have never done this before I darn sure would not attempt it as it will downgrade your system to MM 5.0 and then try to take it back to 5.2. And that will fail.

The MM5.2GA+Patch 8 was designed to be installed at the time of installation of the system and I can see this causing 8 ways of hell unless meticulously planned and executed. (lots of downtime as well)

Thanks for the information Ken. I will let the higher ups know and plan accordingly.

Thanks again.
