I have a customer running version 4.0. The configuration is an Avaya MAS as the front end and an Avaya MSS as the backend. The customer bought version 5.2 with new hardware. The hardware is an Avaya provided MAS and MSS. I can install and configure the 5.2 version as a new installation. I have to get the subscribers exported from the 4.0 installation and imported to the 5.2 installation. How do I do that?

Backup of the MSS is restored to the new hardware to port over the users. The 5.2 installation guide shows the steps

We are doing the same thing for one our customers as we speak....
As mentioned, the 5.2 installation / migration doc goes over all the steps.

But in a nutshell, you use DCT to analyze the existing MAS, and backup the MSS.
You image both the MSS and MAS, you restore the MSS from the backup, and you kick off the MAS install using the analyzed DCT file.

Of course with there are a lot more steps, but the avaya provided document is pretty good.

Thanks...
