Hi
I am modifying an existing cognos report.
It has aging columns i.e. 0-30 30-60 etc. I am adding 120-180.
When I add the column and totals it is correct however after a while the totals for this column change to an incorrect number.
Initially the total would be 500 000 I refresh several times and it stays correct. Then all of a sudden it changes to like 93000 I cannot figure out why.
Thank you Steven

I forgot to mention it is Cognos Impromptu Version 7.

1. Query-timeout (partial results returned)
2. (partial) refresh of (one of the) datasource(s) (tables)
3. Locking issues in the database

On what type of database are you reporting?

all the original totals are correct and if I substitute another total calculation eg 0-30 into the 120-180 calculation it gives me the correct results every time.

I meant OLTP / datawarehouse (which type), not Oracle on UNIX for the type.
0-30 and 120-180 may be trivial things to you, but says nothing to me. Can you clarify?

Okay, that may have the effect that some of the data may be locked for update/insert and you cannot read all that you need to have for your query.
You should discuss this with the DBA and see if changing the isolation level can make a difference (perhaps a dirty read/uncommited read level can solve this)
