Modify Recurring Instances - CE85

I need to add the ability to modify recurring instances in CE85 however I am absoutely pushed to the limit for time due to other projects I'm on at the moment.

It is a problem that crops up time and time again - ie if the parameters on a report are changed and the report is then saved back to CE, the existing recurring instances now fail.

The few attempts I've made at learning how to use the model and the existing csp indicate that it will take some dedicated time that I just don't have. If anyone has any code for a 'modify' functionality could you please please please send it to me. I know I should do it myself and under normal circumstances would but I'm between a rock and a hard place - and could desperately do with some assistance.

I might be way off base here, but wouldn't it be easier to simply delete the recurring instance and reschedule another?
Perhaps the number of recurring reports does not make this approach beneficial. If changes are frequent, perhaps the process should not be "automated". Maybe some user intervention is required....

it's way more time consuming to delete and reschedule - not least because, yes, there are in this case 10 distinct recurring instances. Most of our reports are scheduled to run daily and the destination is email. So when, as happens reasonably regularly, someone new wants to receive that instance or the person to receive it changes or the report's parameters are changed or an email address changes or a million other reasons..... it's a really pain in the behind having to delete and reschedule... there must be a better way!!!! We came from an SI7 environment which allowed you to modify - and boy are we missing it!

So, do you still have SI hanging around?

We "upgraded" from SI also, BUT, we still use SI for some of the things Enterprise just can't handle easily. Don't know if you can, or are willing to, "go backwards" until a better solution comes along.

Sorry - let me rephrase my last sentence... boy are we missing the ability to modify. Definitely NOT missing SI7.

You cannot modify recurring instances. You mentioned that when you change the parameters in the reports, the newly scheduled reports fail. What is the error ?

I realise I can't do it out-of-the-box but surely through CSP the values against the prompts on a recurring instance can be amended????

The error message isn't really the problem because I need to be able to do it to even if it doesn't fail eg an existing recurring report is emailed to 10 people each day, I need to remove one email address and replace it with another.

In the case of reports where the parameters have changed I get an error that More Information is Required or something to that effect. This is because a new parameter has been added which of course the existing recurring instances have no knowledge of.
