Please post supply specific information about what you're trying to do, and include what product and version you're using, Crystal Decisions in the current Corporation name.
You can pass a parameter and alter a report by testing the parameter and suppressing sections or changing formulas.
I use ePortfolio (Crystal Enterpises 9).
I schedule a recurring report. Is possible to modify it?
Example: add a new name to the list to the mail adsresses.
I don't know if this will help but its worth my time any how.
We have the same problem. We've been using SI for the past 4 years and are now "upgrading??" to CE9. Many of our reports are parameterized, some with as many as 30 parameters. Many users of these highly parameterized reports schedule them in SI off of existing instances, changing only a few of the parameters. I have received some very unhappy comments from these users on this subject.
When I was at CDUGNA last may I discussed this, and related subjects, with several others, including some CD people. The primary comment that I received was that the entire ePortfolio interface is completely customizable (very dirty word where I work) and that we can make it do what we want.
One specific suggestion was to modify the history panel to allow you to select a successful instance and do things with it, by opening a context menu rather than opening the instance in a viewer. If you can accomplish this then you should be able to open the schedule panel from the context menu, populating the various options and parameters from those items in the selected report. From this point the rest should be standard Crystal.
I intend to try this approach after the dust from my implementation of CE9 settles.
While I intend to make this attempt it will probably take several months to complete it since it will be a side project for me and my web developer.
If this development effort is successful I don't know if my management will permit me to distribute the results. However, I would be able to provide general guidance in this area.
I would be happy to pursue this offline with you if you would like to.
