Hi, I need to modify a form template and expand a field from a text field to a text multiLine. Is there any way to accomplish this without changing the form tag number?
not in a supported way you can in an unsupported way change the template file and edit the form template. It is in your storage provide. If it is in the EFS it is easyif you are storing them in BLOB it is very difficlt. If it is archive servver also it can be edited.
Why go for this bother can you not just go to any html views/forms and do a global replace using an ascii editor of some sort.
Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Sorry, I am new to this project and the developer who implemented this is no longer available. I changed the template and html form. Existing workflows do not display the new field definition. Is there any way to fix this?
In the form template that is associated to your workflow if the attribute changed from 2 to 11
export any html views associated with it.Open it with a ascii editor and in there you will see things like
[1_1_2_1] that 2 will change to 11.I cannot tell you the unsupported way in this forum. Logon to KB and
find a statement that tells you how to find the template or for that matter any object in livelink that has a version.

I can modify my html view and add a new version to the template, but old workflows do not use the new html form. I'm not sure about where to export the html views for existing workflows. Can you tell me where to locate that option? How would I import it back?
Hi follow this steps to get to a better working environment.
Without thinking about the workflow for a minute make sure you have edited the form template object
and any html views or pdf views of it.Make sure the changes on the template are available in the views.
If needed one can spot check by creating a from out of the template and see if you are seeing the
changed component by doing a view source.
Now open up the workflow map that has this template attache or create a simple 1 or 2 step workflow for testing
Attach this form template to the workflow.Edit the workflow step and say "enable this form" on the steps you want.
Initiate the workflow and see if you are seeing the changes you made.Re-adjust on the real map anything that was calculated
based on the old form attribute.
All the workflows that were initiated prior to your change will not see the changes, this is a go forward situation
BTW is the form driving a workflow or is the form part of the workflo just like other things like attachments, comments etc

Thanks for the reply. I am able to see the changes in new workflows. I just needed to confirm that workflows initiated prior to the change cannot see the change.
