modify existing iconv translation table on sun os 2.8

I want to modify an existing translation table which is recognised by iconv.

The conversion is from 8859-1 to IBM-037 (EBCIDIC)

This is a binary table (/usr/lib/iconv../binarytables) .bt so first need to get into a readable form.

Basically want to convert accented charcters to unaccneted characters and this seems to be the only way.

Any help would be highly appreciated

Don't think this is easly done... Unless you plan on creating your own character set. All I can do is point you to man pages that are not normally seen. Hopefully they can help you.
