Need to modify the value of the creation date of a document. Does it have an internal field that I can replace the value of doc.created? If anyone knows how to do this, appreciate your help. Just need to change some documents creation date to another one.
There is a created variable that is defined when the document is created but I've never found a way to modify it. However most memo's defualt to displaying a posted date and this is capable of being modified. You can create an agent to set the posteddate field to a different value and when someone opens the doc it will display with the posted date. If the right click and check doc. properties it will still show the true created date. Also this only works in the database that you change the doc in. So you can't use it to change an email you've sent unless you can access all of the recipients mailboxes.
thanks gamesman, but i don't think i'll be able to follow your advice since I need to change the true created date, and according to other discussions in other groups, the only way is to create an NOTESAPI to change the value... I won't go to that trouble just to change 3-4 documents.. I'll just recreate them with the desired date. Just wondering if there are simpler ways(scripts..formulas ...etc) of doing it. changing the true created date. thx again.
