Modem/TA fails & needs to be hard reset!

I have a number of ISDN Modems/TAs attached to external sync/async ports.
From time to time the dialer starts timing out on a particular modem/TA. The only way to resolve it seems to be to turn the TA off then on again.

I have tried cle int ser?/? and cle line?? but, nether work. I have even tried reloading the whole router.

is there is any option to set keep alive time like 5 seconds so that timing out can be avoided.pls correct me if i am wrong

is ther is any Idle Time out setting Change the setting to zero to prevent the connection from timing out

The are a host of idle timeouts - fast idle timer, idle timer, renable timer, carrier timout but, they still don't help the specific problem of packets not being intresting afer the line has just timed out!
