We have a G3r v9 with a TN742 v16 we are connecting a computer modem. Problem is the line drops during connetion. The call is going out on a T1 ISDN to the carrier. The T1 is high quality. Is there a better way to do this??

give modem one directly line is great.

Should work fine, I use that method all the live long day all over the place.

Check the T1 for errors..

List meas ds1 log (then board location)

If running clean.. you should see all zeros. If not, troubleshoot it.

A couple of other things to try. Try a different fax machine... route out a different trunk...

Thanks,

G3rV9 - you should have no problem. Check your timing/t-1 slips and if center stage, your switch node clocks.
