Hi, I need to connect an ISDN modem to an IP500 V2 R11 hub.
I have tried for a BRI port converted to S-Bus, with a crossover cable and resistors, but it doesn't work.
Has anyone tried to connect an ISDN phone or modem to an Avaya Ip500 V2?
Is there anything else to configure besides converting the BRI port to S-Bus?
Thank you.

I haven’t done this in years but a cross over cable won’t work as the connections are different.

Unfortunately I don’t know the connections but we use to get a manufactured cable from Nortel for our BRI cards when using SBus connections..

I am sure if you google it you will get an answer.

There is a BRI adapter available from Avaya. Can't remember the exact name right now.

You can also try to get or to create a cable that crosses pins 3/4 and 5/6 against each other. But the adapter also has inbuilt resistors.

And the modem will never be an extension. You have to route calls to the modem through short codes.

IP Office remote service
Fixed price SIP trunk configuration
CLI based call blocking
SCN fallback over PSTN

Terminating Resistors
100ohm Terminating resistors are required across the transmit and receive wire pairs at each end of the S-bus.

[li]For IP Office 4.2+, individual ports of an IP500 BRI daughter card can be switched to So mode. This is done by setting the Line Sub-Type to S-Bus in the IP Office configuration. In this case, terminating resistors must be added at the IP Office end in addition to those at the other end of the S-bus connection.[/li]
[li]Addition of the necessary termination at the IP Office end can be done using an IP500 BRI So Converter Cable (700458649). This short (25cm/10") cable includes both the necessary terminating resistors and the cable cross-over.[/li]
[li]Many ISDN terminal devices includes terminating resistors. If this is not the case, 100ohm (+/-5%) resistors must be connected across the receive wire pair and the transmit wire pair in the junction box immediately before the last ISDN terminal on the S-bus.[/li]

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
