I have meridain Option 11C, release 25.30 PBX. The sub modem is not working. I want to add regular US Robotic 33.6K modem. Anybody knows the modem command? Please help me.

Thanks,

1. There are (8) dip switches on the rear of the modem. Set switches S1, S3, S7, & S8 in the down position, the rest in the up position.

2. Connect the modem to a terminal or personal computer using a 25 pin RS232 cable.

3. Set the terminal or personal computer serial port to 9,600 baud (8 data bits / no parity / 1 stop bit ).

4. Turn the power ON to the modem.

5. Using the terminal or the terminal portion of the personal computer communications package, issue the following AT commands.

AT&F <Return> (Response is OK)
AT&F0 <Return> (Response is OK)
ATS0=1 <Return> (Response is OK)
AT&B1 <Return> (Response is OK)
ATY0 <Return> (Response is OK)
ATQ1 <Return> ( No Response)
AT&W0 <Return> (No response)
AT&W1 <Return> (No response

6. Turn the power OFF to the modem, and disconnect it from the terminal or personal computer.

7. Set the (8) dip switches on the rear of the modem as follows. Set switches S1, & S4 in the down
position the rest in the up position.

8. Connect the modem to the Meridian 1 system as instructed in the NTPs

Thanks for your help. It's works.

I have meridain Option 11C, release 18.3 PBX. I have tried these instructions but I am still unable to get connected to the PBX. Can anyone help?

Do the same dip switch setting as Jay21 say, but for the command try this:
AT&F >return
AT&B1&W&W1 > return

turn off modem

set switch 1 and 4 down everything else up

help ! the 3com 56K voice/fax modem I have does not have any external dip
switches. So how I configure it ?

Maybe you can try this one; I use it many times without concern the dip work.
