I have a SPD 1428/2856 General description, installation and maintanance manual. the model # on the unit is 2800, IRS level M. Is 2800 just a series #?. Is programming the same? Thanks ahead for any help.

The 2800 is the 2856 System. 2800 is the Part number for the KSU and the SPD1428/2856 is the system name. SPD=StarPlus Digital and 1428 (14 CO Lines and 28 Extension) and 2858 doubles the configuration to (28 CO Lines and 56 Extensions) I think this is should help you out! Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks for the reply, trabra. I'm not real up on Vodavi, but I got the manuals and my foot in the door. Ever hear of any issues with the system clock not keeping accurate time? Thanks again.

Yes, the RCU (real-time clock unit) in those are not that great. Of even greater concern is that the phones that are used on that system, the 1410, 1412, 1414, and 1418, have BAD button pad problems. In a heavy use situation, the buttons will start to fail after about 2 years. Replacement button pads are availavble and fairly easy to swap out. Just be aware that you will have to start pushing the buttons harder and harder as time goes on. This situation is worsened by humidity. I would make sure that, every spring, you have a supply of replacement button pads on hand.

Thank's paul144, I figured there was a time problem. 4 minutes every 4 months? (slow). Is that what youve experienced? Good advice on the button pads.

If you are only losing 4 minutes every 4 months you are doing great. I have heard of and seen much, much worse...

Hey paul144, the system I'm refering to uses the system clock to operate bells on a schedule. I dont know how (maybe you do) this is integrated with the system. I cant see anything in the manual that has to do with schedules or alarms (like a hotel/motel) package. Know of any kind a hardware upgrades? Thanx.

I am afraid that I have no experience in that type of setup. Is it an external unit that you are referring to running off of S/L adapters? Maybe you should try to track down a manual on the unit that is controlling the scheduled ringing and find a way to run the clock off of a different source.
Either that or have someone on site manualy correct the time on a regular basis.

Hi paul144, turns out it is a separate unit for the bells.I took the customers word that they (the bells)were controlled by the system. After I finally had a chance to visit the site I found out otherwise. I ended up finding some doc's.
Thank's for the replies, I really aprishee8it.
