Technically, your cell phone should start ringing immediately. But since your cell phone is really just a radio deviec...it takes a a few seconds for the call setup and all of the to complete and to deliver the call to your mobile device. You can verify this by twinning your deskphone to a landline or another extension in the office. When you call your phone then, those twinned devices should ring immediately. But theres nothing really that I know of that you can do to speed up your mobile carriers call setup process. you just gotta wait for it to come through the air.
With mobile extension service, the intent is to have the Cell and the Desktop ring simultaneously. Delaying the ring to the Cell would defeat the purpose. Most of the time, the issue is that the cell does not ring soon enough and timers need to be extended to allow more rings at the desktop thus allowing more rings at the Cell.
Can you elaborate more on exactly why this is a problem for you. I am hesitant to tell you how to break the system.
Have you considered just turning the service off when you don't need it?

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.
Thanks cknipe. It seems like it transfers the call to the cellphone too fast. by the time i pick up my handset the call is already on the cellphone. I can tell my boss to turn off mobility when he's in his office, but he'll probably tell me it's too much of a hassle to turn it ON and OFF. I thought that if it's twinned that I can answer the call on either phone. doesn't seem to be the case here.
moosekaka,
I have to echo what kwbmitel said.
you shouldn't worry about the fact that it rings too fast on the mobile phone. It's like that by design, besides if he doesn't want to take it on mobile he need merely lift the handset and take the call.
it's not a call forwarding (with delay) feature.
kwbmitel's suggestion of assigning delay ring on the key system button will probably do the trick but again, you're curing a non existent disease...
Thanks Mitelpassion. Yeah, he can do that. I think on mine though, it's broken. I'm not able to answer on my desktop phone at all. When i pick it up on the second ring, i get a busy signal, and then my cellphone rings. cellphone rings even when i hang up the handset.
I can only answer the desktop if i pick it up immediately after the first ring. Don't know why. seems to be working for everyone but me.
Well. I figured it out. My twinned cellphone was set up in the system with a prefix of 8 to show the caller ID. I changed it to 9 and now it works. I can answer on my Desktop phone.
