I have a IP office manager version 9.1.7 build 163. I am trying to setup twinning with cell phones and it is not working. To start some of the phones say feature denied when I go to the twinning option on the phone. Some do allow me to configure it. But even when I put in all the correct info it does not work.
I have even tried to configure it within the manager and still unable to get it to work. All it does is act normal.

When I did configure one where the feature does not say denied and I call that line while looking at the phone it does show the number that I set to twin with but still just rings then goes to the phones voicemail.

At the moment I don't have any phones available that do not say feature denied. So to start does anyone know where there might be a setting that

The ones that do say feature denied I have looked at the use settings and extension settings within the manager and compare one that is not denied and I am not able to find any reason why this would be.

What Software level is your IPO running

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

9.1.7 IPGuru,

What type of lines do you have?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You should call your Business Partner for assistance if you can't answer that.
CAT5 is your cabling, not your phone lines.

It is a fiber line from my isp provider go to my network. Then cat5 cables run from each phone to my LAN.
I did contact my provider. We don’t have a contract any more. And the cost is a lot. So that is why I came here for help. That is how you learn things.

I am a system administrator. I’ve worked with computers my whole life and internal network’s. I may not know the terminology that you mean when you say lines. I’m also a new working with the IP office manager. That is why am here. So I can learn and in the future have no problems and know how to fix an issue like this if it comes across.

Janni78. That what a forum is for right or I wroung?

yes and no.

It is NOT a free helpdesk and yes you can learn a lot by just following the threads of your interest.

But first of all learn some telecom basics.

My bet here is you have a manager 9.1 but IP Office is running a lower version where you need a per user license to use mobile twinning.

No. I spoke with northland “they are provider and installed system”. I do not need any license. They triedto help over the phone but where not able to figure it out. They needed to send a tech. $$. They told me the twinning is included with the phone license. It is manager 9.1.7 build 163 as stated in first post. If you do not believe this forum is free support then I have always misunderstood what forums are for. I am always willing to help others for free. I have searched all post and websites and was not able to find anything to help. Always do research first. When I am unable to find an anwser that is when I post in a forum. Most times anwser are already out

I do know some basics. I just started this job. So now that this will be part of my job I am in the process of troubleshooting and learning.

Again I am here because Northland could not figure it out so I turn to others. But this seems to be more people criticizing and saying what not to do rather than helping others by providing insight into skills they have.

First off you need to enable this in the Manager program under users mobility. I tend to program the whole thing from there as it is easier. Make sure that you include in the telephone number of twinning the access code for you system, so if you need to dial 9 or 8 for an outside line add it to the string in the twinning tab.
Mike

Another thing is what type of trunks do you have, i.e. POTS, PRI, BRI?

Tks teletechman

I have left for the day today. I will be back tomorrow and look into your ideas and questions

Joeny0706, Open manager and on the left you will have from top to bottom:

System
Lines
contorl unit
Users
Extensions
...
...
...

The most important part is Lines

Common lines are:

PRI E1/T11
PRI (europe)
Analog
SIP
DECT

If analog then you are screwed, won't work
If PRI,BRI or SIP then it should work.

Tell us the verison(s) from Control unit.

BAZINGA!

Line 1-4 are analong truck
line 5 is PRI 24 universal

Under control unit there is
1 IP 500 V2 192.168.1.238
2 COMBO6210/ATM4 V2
3 PHONE2/PRIS U
5 UC Module V2 192.168.1.239

I did unable in the manager
Under user mobility I checked Mobility features. then mobile twinning
I then enter the number I want it to transfer to. I tried with the 9. Tried also with 1 in front of area code. There are a couple options like "Hunt groups eligible and forward calls eligible" I treid all different ways but nothing worked
When I check status on the phone after seting it sayd on and the details showdestination to the correct number with a 9 in front of it.

Some of the phones show feature denied when I try to twinn them. Even if I set it all up within the manager some still show feature denind

I do have the manager at the store on the control unit. Then over a VPN tunnel at the factory is where I am trying to work on this. But also the phones at the store do not work even when setup within manager. Just wanted to mention that.

The Control unit part should also show the software version.

The version for all

"Under control unit there is
1 IP 500 V2 192.168.1.238
2 COMBO6210/ATM4 V2
3 PHONE2/PRIS U
5 UC Module V2 192.168.1.239"

when I click on any of the says version 9.1.7 build 163

IP office manager is Version 11 Build 849

Then you need no additional licenses.

Setup prerequisites:

Digital lines, either ISDN or SIP
Users mobility programmed, set the Mobile number exactly as you would dial it on the Phone, so including any access code like a 9 or 0

Thats all8

I have done the setup under users mobility many times on different phones and still will not work. I have also done the setup on the phone it self to go to 9315*******. It does show that status and setup to go to the correct cell phone I want it to but does not work. It just ends up going to the internal voicemail of that user.

I talked to northland again and they have seen this once before. They said an update resolved the issue ;last time. Will try over the weekend

Well, there was a bug like that in early 9.0, but doesn't hurt trying.

"Trying is the first step to failure..." - Homer

Is mobile twinning only when calling from an outside line? Can I get it to also twin to the mobile phone when an inside line calls an inside line. It will not let me enable internal twinning while mobile twinning is enabled.

Make sure have allowed the call to Transfer out externally
System - Telephony- inhibit of switch Forward / Transfer this should be UNTICKED.

also if you have a Prefix code (9) you may have to put the Access code into the SYSTEM SHORT CODE section..

Question 2: mobile twinning works also if you call the user's extn number and have Mobility features enabled.

Question 3: No you cant enable Internal Twinning and External twinning at the same time..its one or the other..it makes sense.

Hope this helps
