Hi folks. I am new to Websphere. We have a project here, in Russia. Something like online-mobile broker system.
So the question is what products should we use in addition to IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere Application Server. The database is DB2 UDB EE 7.2.
Pardon my english, i have just a little practice in it.

Hi,

You don't day where you want to keep your application data. If you are going to use DB2 and not a back-end host system then you have everything you need to get started. HTTPServer for WebServer, WebSphere for runtime environment and DB2 for application and WebSphere repository.

I am a bit concerned though that you might be mislead the product can be very complicated to both administer and setup. You will need to first read the WebSphere Handbook (presumably v4.0) which you can get from and pay special attention to Chapter 5 - topology selection before you proceed. If this is a mission critical setup then you really should be using the services of a system architect particularly in the area of failover and resilience as WebSphere has a lot to offer in terms of possible solutions.

Tread carefully my friend!.
