Hi

I have a couple of mobile phones that I would like to connect to our SV9100. We currently use the ST500 app. We have these working internally fine but I also would like to get them to work External as well. I have open a port on my router to allow access for the ST500 to connect via but I don't seem to get a connection through it. is there anything i'm missing in the programming.

Also on the matter of having ports open on my router I found the other day that someone managed to connect to my phone system through it and was trying to dial out. The only reason how we found this out was that the rang an internal number and ended up ringing my phone. Is there a way of stopping this sort of thing happening on the sv9100?

UDP Port 5070 needs to be port forwarded to the local IP Address assigned to the VoIP DB in PRGM 10-12-09
UDP Range 10020 – 10083 should be forwarded to the local IP Address assigned to PRGM 84-26.

SIP Server Address: Profiles for Local Wi-Fi where the SL1100 is enter the local IP Address of the SL1100 (PRGM 10-12-09’s address). For all other remote profiles enter the SL1100 site’s router’s public IP Address (This should also be entered in PRGM 10-12-07)
SIP Server Port: 5070
SIP protocol: UDP
Connection Type: For profiles using any network’s Wi-Fi choose Wi-Fi, for the profile using the cellular data plan select “Mobile Data Plan”
Additional profiles may be created by going back to menu (three dots top right) > Settings > Profiles > Create Profile.
Profiles can be set to be selected automatically (Under Profile menu). The order of the profiles may be rearranged by the user.

You put yourself at risk if you try to use the ST500 (or any IP phone for that matter) outside of your LAN if you don't install an SBC (Session Border Controller)

You can use VPN over SBC, as an easier way to securely connect. However, to ensure security with port forwarding, some network appliances have the facility to lock down incoming connections through ports to specific external IPs, and if you pay enough, MAC Addresses as well. Having a device like this for your router, would allow you to ensure only devices you are wanting can come in through the ports you are opening. Draytek has a range of products that allow MAC filtering, and I believe Netgear has some devices also.
