Hello LALRL,

The command REEXI is used to initiate a remote extenbsion. the two types of remote extensions are defined and licensed, each one with a different level of functionality. One is called Mobile Extension (MOB) and the other is called Fixed Remote extension (FIX).

Mobile extension

A mobile extension can be any type of telephone, either a mobile telephone used in the PLMN, or a terminal used in the PSTN or PN. It is possible to define additional public terminals which can alternate as answering position by dialling a procedure. These additional public terminals can be, either a CB telephone with DTMF key pad or a home DECT system. In order to fully utilize the feature offered by the ASB 501 04, these terminals should have the possibility to convey digits and the characters * and #.

A mobile extension user who calls a predefined number in the PABX by dialling either manually, using the phone book or the calling card service and after executed validation or by entering a valid PIN-code will receive dial tone from the PABX.

In order to simplify the call procedure for a user of a mobile extension, the PLMN network operator should offer prefixing of dialled number and a direct access to the PABX. This means that the user only dials an internal PABX number in order to reach the wanted person and the predefined number, as mentioned above, is added by the PLMN exchange.

Fixed remote extension

A fixed remote extension can be any type of telephone, either a mobile telephone used in the PLMN, or a terminal used in the PSTN or PN, as e.g. an LB telephone, a CB telephone with rotary dial or DTMF key pad or a home DECT system.

Furthermore, in some cases, it can be useful to have the terminals categorized with the hot-line or delayed hot-line feature.

It is recommended to use the function delayed hot-line especially if the terminals belong to another numbering area than the main ASB 501 04. This gives the user the possibility (in case of emergency) to call the emergency number in own numbering area.

When the fixed remote extension user makes a call, the call is established to a predefined number in the PABX. After validation of the received public A-number dial tone will be sent to the terminal.

If a number presentation equipment is installed at the public terminal, calling number information will be received when a call is made from the PABX.
